Jolie 2008
Wine Notes This Hawkes Bay Rosé is an excellent warm weather wine, with delicious youthful characters of strawberry and red currant. The palate is soft and elegant with up front flavours of raspberry and watermelon, finishing with a firm structure and crisp acidity.
Food Match ‘Jolie’ Rosé is a versatile accompaniment to many foods. Perfect as a lightly chilled aperitif, and fantastic with light summer salads, ‘Jolie’ is an ideal wine to share with friends over a barbeque on a warm summer’s evening.
Viticulture ‘Jolie’ is created from a selection of our premium red varieties, grown at Paritua Vineyards in the acclaimed ‘Triangle’ region of Hawkes Bay. The vines are spur pruned to provide excellent fruit exposure, producing clean, ripe fruit with great concentration.
Cellaring Potential ‘Jolie’ is best enjoyed as a youthful wine, to experience the refreshing red berry-fruit character.
Winemaking Parcels of fruit were destemmed and transferred to tank. After a short period of cold soaking, where the fruit was allowed to gently colour the juice, the clean juice was run off to a separate tank. Fermentation was conducted at cool temperatures to retain the gorgeous fruit flavours, and to capture the iridescent rose colour that gave ‘Jolie’ her name; ‘Jolie,’ French for ‘pretty.’ The wine was then fined and filtered to be ready for bottling in late 2008.
