Wine Notes Vibrant, fruit-driven Hawkes Bay Rosé with aromas of strawberry and cream and hints of plum blossom. The palate is soft and elegant showing up front fl avours of raspberry and red plum, fi nishing with a fi rm structure and crisp acidity.
Food Match ‘Jolie’ Rosé is an excellent warm weather wine, matching beautifully with a range of light summer salads and rice dishes. Perfect as a chilled aperitif ‘Jolie’ is an ideal wine to share with friends over a barbeque on a warm summer’s evening.
Viticulture ‘Jolie’ is created from a selection of our premium Merlot, grown at Paritua Vineyards in the acclaimed ‘Triangle’ region of Hawkes Bay. The vines are spur pruned to provide excellent fruit exposure, producing clean, ripe fruit with great concentration.
Cellaring Potential ‘Jolie’ is best enjoyed as a youthful wine to experience the refreshing, aromatic and vibrant fruit characters.
Winemaking Parcels of fruit were destemmed and transferred to tank. After a short period of cold soaking, where the fruit was allowed to gently colour the juice, the clean juice was run off to a separate tank. Fermentation was conducted at cool temperatures to retain the gorgeous fruit fl avours, and to capture the iridescent rose colour that gave ‘Jolie’ her name; ‘Jolie,’ French for ‘pretty.’ The wine was then fi ned and fi ltered to be ready for bottling in late 2009.
